Green Mountains Snowshoe Itinerary
Friday, March 15, 2024 11am Arrive at Cabin and take our first hike before preparing for shabbat.
This trail runs along the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail beginning from Mad Tom Notch Road. The trail is a steady climb to the summit of Styles Peak. The top is partially wooded but there is a nice rocky outcropping you can walk out onto that has a nice view. Shortly after leaving the trailhead you will enter into the Peru Peaks Wilderness. Out and Back - 2 hours, 2.9 miles, elevation 941 ft.
Shabbat, March 16, 2024 watch the sunrise over Bromley Mountain, join in communal song and study, enjoy Board games, or on-premise trails, taking in the peace and quiet of the forest.
Sunday, March 17, 2024 8:30am after we check out, but before heading our separate ways, we will embark on a communal ascent up the side of Bromley Mountain. There is a large parking lot alongside VT Route 11 to access the Long Trail. The trail heads up the side of Bromley Mountain crossing over Bromley Brook. Just shy of 2 miles from the trailhead there is a spur trail that leads down to the Bromley Shelter. This is a good place to have a snack and enjoy each other's company. The trail continues uphill eventually hiking up a ski run to the summit. Out and Back - 5 hours, 5.7 miles, elevation 1420 ft

Shomer Shabbat and Kashrut
All adventures are kosher and shomer Shabbat, honoring individual practice and fully supporting observance of mitzvot. Friday afternoon has always been the peak of every Lech-Lecha adventure, as we prepare by cooking dinner, gathering water, building the eiruv and bringing intention into our Shabbat together.
Tales from the Trail
"Lech-Lecha was such a unique and special experience. The opportunity to celebrate Shabbat in the woods and focus on the present moment helped me connect to Judaism spiritually in a way that I hadn't done in a long time. I also enjoyed meeting a lovely group of other Jewish young adults from all different backgrounds, and felt like the discussions we had and the traditions we shared with each other enriched the trip."
